Sustainability at ACM ICAIF’25

Building a greener future for AI in Finance

As the AI and Finance community gathers in Singapore for the 6th ACM International Conference on AI in Finance (ICAIF), ICAIF’25 is committed to reducing the environmental footprint of our event. In partnership with Sheraton Towers Singapore and building on the sustainability momentum of Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) — which ICAIF’25 follows this year — we’ve introduced two core initiatives for this year’s conference.

Initiative 1: Digital-First, Low-Waste Conference Materials

Instead of printed programs, paper inserts, and single-use badge holders, ICAIF’25 has gone digital:

  • Full conference app / website: Schedule, accepted papers, schedule details, and speaker bios are all available on the [ICAIF’25 site](https://icaif25.org) and app, replacing printed handouts.
  • Reusable badges & lanyards: Attendees are encouraged to return lanyards at clearly marked collection points at the end of the conference for reuse at future events.
  • No printed proceedings: All papers are distributed digitally via the ACM Digital Library.

Initiative 2: Sustainable Catering & Waste Reduction

Working with Sheraton Towers Singapore’s F&B team, ICAIF’25 catering is designed to minimize waste:

  • Vegetarian-forward menus with locally sourced ingredients to reduce transport emissions.
  • Minimal standby food policy – food is prepared closer to demand to avoid over-catering.
  • Water refill stations – placed near session halls, reducing single-use plastic bottles. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a reusable bottle.

How You Can Help

  • Return your badge and lanyard at the collection point before you leave.
  • Choose digital — access papers, schedules, and slides via the app instead of requesting print copies.
  • Use public transport such as MRT and BUS to reach Sheraton Towers Singapore where possible. More details about the transportation to the Conference Venue can be found via ICAIF’25 Venue.
